Copper Umiguard powder for marine antifouling coatings

Copper Umiguard Antimicrobial powder is a viscous dispersion of Copper Umiguard Antimicrobial powder, rosin, and 1,2-Dichlorobenzene. Currently Copper Umiguard Antimicrobial dispersion is sold in other parts of the world as a marine antifouling agent.

In-Can Preservatives Umiguard BCI for industrial waterborne coatings

Umiguard BCI is broad spectrum preservative for the protection of industrial water-based products against spoilage from bacteria, yeasts and fungi. It is a formulation of 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one (BIT) and a 3:1 blend of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (CMIT) and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (MIT) that has been specially formulated to provide good preservation at levels of 0.17% and below.

This fine particle dispersion is specially formulated to not discolor due to interactions with various elements that can be present in some industrial formulations. In particular, soluble iron can react with zinc pyrithione the active ingredient in Umiguard Z40X and a gray-blue color may develop. By using Umiguard Z40X Antimicrobial in these formulations, reaction of iron with zinc pyrithione is suppressed.
